Sarah Heemstra Health was born out of a passion to journey alongside of you as you discover what a healthy and balanced relationship with food and exercise means for your life, leaving you empowered to make the choices that will nourish your body, mind, and all of the things you love.
For too long I struggled with insecurities that made me question my worth, my ability to contribute, and my strength. Through a long journey of unhealthy eating habits, obsessing over my weight, and negative self-talk, I broke myself down little by little until my self confidence was at an all-time low. Let me just say, that is no stinkin’ way to live a full and abundant life.
Over the last several years, with the help of an incredible support system of family and friends, saying yes to new fitness challenges, and educating myself on how to truly nourish my body, I have learned how to love myself, and my body once again; or perhaps, for the first time in my entire life.
I sit here today and I feel nourished. I have been able to discover the depth of the roots that were placed inside of me by a loving Creator, whose identity I was made in the image of. These roots have been through a lot of damage and they stand resilient. I have discovered that I am worth it, I am able to contribute, and I am strong. I still fight daily, making the conscious decision to build myself up and nourish myself with the foods that leave me feeling energized and capable, with a glass of red wine peppered in between. I try to move my body daily, whether it is with a workout in the gym or by taking a relaxing walk outside with a friend. I don’t get it right every time, but the difference between now and then is that today I choose to forgive myself when I fail, instead of punishing myself with an unwanted workout or a low calorie meal. In that, my friends, I have found freedom.
So, that’s enough about me, but that is a bit about why I have started Sarah Heemstra Health. A holistic health coaching business that exists to bring meaning of what a healthy and balanced relationship with food and exercise means for your unique self. Whether you have struggled with some of the same insecurities as I’ve just shared and you’re looking for freedom, you’re looking for ways to build healthy and quick meals into your daily routine, or anything in between, let’s chat to see how we can discover that same strength that rests inside of you.
